Question by cornucopia: Where to find cheap beads and jewelry making supplies?
I’m looking to buy a lot of beads for really cheap. I mean like 300-500 beads for like $ 2-5 or something. Cheap beads, not like real gems or anything; glass, plastic, and cheap silver parts/pendants. I’ve searched ebay and some sites but have had little luck. Anyone design jewelry and/or know of good places? Good shipping prices a plus…
No i have not tried ebay thats why I mentioned it in my question…

thought of razzle dazzle but that doesnt really describe my jewelry… its not bling! lol
‘earthy’ describes the jewelry, and i thought of SP Designs but that sounds boring. would like something catchy or cute but not childlike.

Question by tkern79: What kind of beaded jewelry would you buy?
I design and make beaded jewelry. While I’ve had some success with my pieces (both the gemstone and glass beaded pieces), I’m wanting to expand my hobby into an actual business. Please let me know what kinds of beaded jewelry appeal to you. I make necklaces, bracelets, rings, anklets, earrings and toe rings. The rings & toe rings are still pretty experimental, but the others have designs well underway, and I’ve made sales in those areas.

Thanks everyone!

Question by brehmermom: I’ve attended a home, beaded jewelry party. What was the name of the company?
I attended a beaded jewelry party at a co-workers house and I no longer work at that job (and only associated with this person at work). Now I need to get a bracelet that I bought adjusted and do not know the company that the lady went through. The consultant showed samples of jewelry made and selections of loose beads, toggles, tubes, etc. and the attendees got tray to arrange loose beads so that we essentially could design our own jewelry, using glass beads, puter beads, and different toggles, etc. Then the consultant would write down our design, sent off the order and the company would string up the jewelry for us to our specifications, then mail the jewelry to the hostess of the party. The items were custom fit. We were told we could send back our jewelry at any time to have sizing adjustments, etc. for a fee. Does anyone work for or know of this company? How could I get in touch with them?

Question by Char2489: Firing precious metal clay (PMC) jewelry?
I want to try making some jewelry using bronze precious metal clay. I was wondering if it’s safe to coat things like shells and lobster claws with the clay, without causing a kiln explosion. Will those fire out? I’m planning on doing some designs with molds, but on particularly complex pieces, I would rather coat them directly.
Thanks!

I buy most of mine from Michael’s and Hobby Lobby. Import stores are good too. I get designs from magazines or jewelry I see in stores.
