Question by J: How do I start in learning how to create gauged jewelery?
I had some ideas for some plugs and ornate designs. I wanted to learn how to work wood, stone and horn to create them, but where do I start? I’m taking a Jewelry class at Columbia College, but it’s all metal work. While I want to be able to use that, I want to know more too. Any suggestions as to wear to start looking?

PS: Yes, I’ve seen all the links on how to build your own gauges with fimo clay. I’m not interested in wearing brightly colored clay in my ears atm.

Thanks in advance for any help!

Checkout ZEN CNC mills. A good CNC mill can link up with your computer and machine your designs into the materials you mentioned. Get good with graphic design, learn how to use a mill, and before you know it you will be able to make almost any design quickly. You can even reproduce the designs and maybe make $ $ $ selling the gauges :) Hit me up if you have more questions!
